Welcome to the Urban Greenspace Research Collaborative
We are an interdisciplinary team of researchers exploring the interface between social and ecological processes in urban systems.

About the Collaborative
The Urban Greenway Research Collaborative (UGRC) is a partnership between researchers at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga (UTC) and Southern Illinois University Edwardsville (SIUE). As part of this collaboration, researchers are pursuing mutually interesting research related to the environmental and social impacts of greenways in urban settings. Our goals are to broaden our academic understanding of the socio-ecological role of greenways in urban environments, provide a creative interdisciplinary research experience for undergraduate and graduate students broadly interested in scientific and policy careers, and engage policymakers and residents in their local communities with the goal of helping cities develop and sustain their greenspaces in an ecologically resilient and socially equitable manner.
